Fred's email stopped working (wrong password) . . . .
However, in order that we could recover/change his password we needed his phone.
Unfortunately Fred had a major disagreement with his phone some months earlier when it had failed to do anything useful, so he discarded it.
At the time of writing this we are desperately trying to locate his phone (and ultimately may order a new sim and place it in a different phone).
Fred's problem is that when his email address was set up, his nephew put in the bare minimum information, there were no secret questions, no date of birth, no alternative email address, only a recovery phone number.
This would have been fine if Fred still had his phone, but as things stand we may never recover his email address.
So take care.
If you have an email account or in fact any account which has recovery options, take advantage of them. Fill out the forms online so that you have as many ways as possible to recover in case of catastrophe.
Remember, you could lose your password quite easily, the obvious way is if you get hacked, but the easiest way is when your provider tries to implement 2 factor authorisation or some other more secure login method. If something goes wrong (or you tick the wrong box) you need an alternate way to reset your password.
Ring us, we'll be happy to help!!
