Fred found a new toy - In Car Navigation without data usage

Chase Computers Wonthaggi Bass Coast
You have a smartphone!
You have replaced your point and shoot camera.
You have replaced your diary.
You have replaced your teledex.
You can make a phone call, sms, MMS, EMAIL, check facebook, browse the web and you can use the in car navigation app.
BUT
Sometimes the navigation app fails, no data connection!!  This can be because there is no available coverage, or this could be because you do not have enough data on your plan.
PROBLEM SOLVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nokia HERE.
In car navigation WITHOUT DATA USAGE!!!
Fred's friend (Christophe) told him about it - and it works!!!
Install theNokia HERE
But BEFORE you do anything else, go to settings (toaster bar/settings) and if you have an SD Card - select it!!
(as Fred found out - you can't reliably shift it later, so Fred is up for a major download again after he uninstalls it)
It works great "out of the box", but you can download the maps for ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD
Do it!!
Then set your HERE maps to go off-line.
No more data usage.
No need for the internet and no need for large data plans - it just works!

This app is free, pretty up to date, reliable and whilst Fred prefers suburb, street name, number input sequence, he has to admit that street number, street name, suburb input sequence works quite well.  What have you got to lose? Nothing! Download it off your home network, download the maps (Fred is off to USA in a month or so, so he has got the maps already), then if you don't like it, don't use it - it has cost you nothing, but could save you a fortune (in data).

UPDATE July 2, 2016
In early 2016, Nokia sold Here to Audi, BMW and Daimler, this transaction was completed in the first quarter. The app is still available for Android and iOS (apple), and of course it works on Windows PC's, but sadly has been removed from Windows Phones.
This is from Micro:-
For maps, routes and navigation, we recommend using the preinstalled Windows Maps application. The Windows Maps app contains many HERE elements since Microsoft has developed it using the HERE Platform and with assets they received from HERE in 2014. Based on your comments on HERE 360 and elsewhere, we know many of you are already having a good experience using Windows Maps.
